For the past three years, the Amherst Survival Center has provided a roster of music performances, on a monthly basis.
With support from a generous gift from a friend of the Center, TUNES@NOON was launched in July 2014. TUNES@NOON continues into 2018, where musicians come to the Center and perform a variety of music during our lunch on the third Friday of the month.
In early 2018, the Center received funding from four local cultural councils to further support these live music performances: the Amherst Cultural Council, the Hadley Cultural Council, the Pelham Cultural Council and the Leverett Cultural Council, all of which are local agencies that are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
TUNES@NOON happens the 3rd Friday lunch of every month and is coordinated by Bob Weiner.
We have tried to include a range of video clips (not professional!) from TUNES@NOON performances on our YouTube channel.
Upcoming Dates, 12pm-1pm during our delicious lunch:
- March 16, 2018: The O-Tones
- April 20, 2018: Spring to Classical Concert with the Northampton Flutes featuring Sue Kurian, Nancy Janosen and George Owens
- May 18, 2018: Music of South America with the Juan Carlos Group
- June 15, 2018: TBA
The Amherst Survival Center gratefully acknowledges that these programs are supported in part by a grant from the local Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. The specific local cultural councils are noted by their individual performance publicity.
