Choose a meaningful gift for a loved one or a friend… while helping our neighbors in need
As a community, we have so much to be proud of in the Amherst Survival Center’s 40th anniversary—our longevity, success and accomplishments! In 1976, the Amherst Survival Center started in the basements of several homes led by Amherst resident Jane Holappa. Clothing was found in one basement, food collected in another, and gatherings held in another. The basics. Canned food, simple meals. Outgrown and unused clothes. Conversation.
Much has changed in the world, yet so many of our neighbors are still struggling: families, the working poor, low-income seniors, students, people coping with mental illness and those experiencing homelessness. They count on our programs, our philosophy, and our continuity. The Center’s essential services continue, enriched by your financial support, your donated goods, and hundreds of volunteers who give their time every week. We have developed new programs consistent with our mission and history, including our free walk-in health clinic, Kids Boost program, and job support. This catalog tells the story of our services, our participants, and volunteers.
Your financial support helps us to thrive. Our anniversary is a celebration of our shared commitment to create and sustain a community of respect and dignity, where we accept and rely upon one another. Thank you for your support!
Instead of material gifts this holiday season, choose gifts from this catalog to honor your friends, family or business associates. You can also use the catalog to make a regular charitable gift. An ‘in your honor’ acknowledgment card can be sent directly to each of your recipients or, if you wish, we’ll send them to you to distribute to your giftees.
Online donations from this catalog will be available soon. Click on the catalog image to open or download the pdf.
