For Businesses, Organizations, Community Groups, Sports Teams, Student Groups, Youth Groups:
Group volunteer opportunities are available and can vary depending on the Center’s needs and the time of year. We so appreciate your time, your support, and your help with these off site and on-site activities. Thank you in advance for your interest and your time!
Drives that collect food and needed items are great for groups and the Center.
There are always opportunities to do Food Drives, New Sock/Underwear Drives, Personal Care Item Drives and Diaper Drives. (These drives can happen on weekends for groups that prefer that timing.)
Group opportunities that happen in the Center are almost always on weekdays. These activities are usually available in December, January, May, June, July and August.
Unload Our Food Delivery Truck:
Groups of 4-7 strong people (able to lift heavy boxes) are welcome to help us unload our weekly food delivery from the Food Bank of Western MA. This usually occurs on Mondays from 2:15pm-4:00pm. This task is critical to our capacity to connect residents to food, as it literally brings the food into the Center!

Groups of 3-10 volunteers are welcome to Adopt-A-Morning at the Amherst Survival Center from 9:00am-11:00am and help the Center prepare for our opening. Tasks we need to get done every morning at the Center to prepare for a day of programs which could be included in your Adopt-A-Morning include:
- Bagging bread
- Organizing produce
- Preparing meals
- Cleaning kitchen areas
- Sorting and organizing community store donations
- Stocking pantry shelves, and other Food Pantry tasks
- Sorting food donations
- Breaking down cardboard
- Helping with building maintenance
- And more!
We welcome your organization, and look forward to hearing from you!

Groups of 10-15 people can help with special projects, including making reusable bags, “bricking” diapers, or doing on-site cleaning projects. These projects often happen on Wednesdays.
