Throughout the year, we host a few fundraising events inviting the community to celebrate the Center and raise vital funds to support our programs.
Hike for Hunger Virtual Challenge
The Amherst Survival Center will soon be launching our second virtual Hike for Hunger Challenge from October 1-31, 2021. The Hike for Hunger presents an opportunity for you to be outside and active, while making sure our community has access to nutritious food.
You can register as an individual, household, or as part of a team. Set your personal Hike for Hunger Challenge goal and invite family, friends, and neighbors to support you in reaching your goal by making a donation. Come October, head out on the trails wherever and whenever you’d like – with your kids, your friends, or your furry friends.
Money raised from Hike for Hunger will go directly to our food and nutrition programs, making sure everyone in our community has access to nutritious food for their families.
In a year when we could not gather to share delicious soups or pick out beautiful handmade bowls at our traditional Empty Bowls event, we turned to the power of our community with a virtual campaign. We were blown away by your outpouring of support. Empty Bowls 2021 raised $39,750 to help fill the bowls of our neighbors in need of food.
We hope to return to our usual Empty Bowls event in 2022.
Feed the Spirit
Come celebrate the Amherst Survival Center at a beautiful seated dinner, with entertainment, and unique fund-a-need auction at our annual Feed the Spirit event. It is a wonderful and fun evening that raises vital funds for the Center’s programs. Feed the Spirit is on hold until we can safely be together again.
