Staff Accountant/Controller (PT, 15-20 hours/week, $28-32/hour).
The Amherst Survival Center is seeking an experienced finance professional to manage the Center’s finances, planning and budgeting. Min. 4 yrs. experience as full-charge bookkeeper, accountant, or controller required. Prior experience in nonprofit finance preferred. Proficiency in QB Online and Excel required. Must have exceptional judgement, professional ethics, and integrity, and bring a strong appreciation for the organization’s mission, values, and approach including reliance on in-kind contributions.
This is a part-time, hourly role. Schedule to be determined with applicant. Ideal schedule includes 3 weekday shifts totaling 15 hours, with additional time as needed during peak times of the month/year. Evening hours required a few times a year. Community Meals Coordinator (FT, $50-55k/year + bilingual differential + benefits)
The Amherst Survival Center is seeking an experienced, flexible, and creative kitchen lead with strong culinary, organizational and leadership skills to oversee kitchen operations, volunteers and food prep for 300-450+ people daily, starting in July.
The Community Meals Coordinator and the primarily volunteer kitchen team uses a combination of recovered, donated, and purchased food to prepare healthy, delicious, and varied meals, feeding our community in body and spirit. This person also plays an active role on our staff team ensuring successful operations of all Center programs. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years’ experience (4+ preferred) in large scale/commercial food preparation, at the kitchen manager/kitchen supervisor/or sous chef level, who combines strong culinary skills, creative menu planning and adaptability, a desire to lead and teach others in the kitchen, and a real passion for providing our neighbors with delicious, beautiful, and nutritious meals.
This is a full time, exempt (salaried) role. Schedule is generally M-F 8-4, with occasional eve/weekend hrs. See job description for full list of qualifications and duties.
Philip, our current Community Meals Coordinator, will be moving out of the area this summer, and thus we are seeking a new person to fill this vital role. We hope to have the new hire start on Monday, July 3, 2023 to allow a period of overlap and training.

Salaries: Individual salaries are determined based on a transparent rubric, within established ranges, with significant opportunities for growth with tenure and increasing responsibilities.
