Job Opportunities

The Amherst Survival Center has a small staff of employees assisted in all program areas by an amazing workforce of volunteers.

The Amherst Survival Center is hiring to sustain our expanded programs. Seeking a team-oriented and hardworking individual to provide high-quality food to community members. 

Food Pantry Assistant (FT, 40 hours, $17/hr + benefits) As the Food Pantry Assistant you will unload food trucks, stock shelves, package grocery orders for delivery, drive delivery vehicles, and more. Very physical job, indoors and outdoors, frequent lifting of 50+ lbs. Driver’s license required. Work alongside a great team of staff and volunteers. $17/hr. plus excellent benefits. Schedule is generally M-F 8:30-4:30, plus a few evening or weekend shifts each month as part of a rotation. Click here for full job description.  

Kitchen Assistant (PT, 20-21.5 hrs/wk, $17/hr + benefits) As the Kitchen Assistant you will prep, cook and clean, and work alongside a team of volunteers, to prepare free, homemade meals to community members. Food service/commercial kitchen experience required. $17/hr. Plus excellent benefits. Schedule is generally M, T, Th, F 10-3 plus ~2 Wednesdays per month from 9:30-11.
